Hi! I'm Scarlet, and I'd like to tell you my story on how I went from a normal fox kit to a fearless alpha fighting phantoms and other evil. Once, only five years ago, I lived with my sister Foxy. I was eleven at the time, and she was nine. I was spunky, brave, cute, and kind, and always sought adventure. Foxy, on the other hand, was tiny.  She was polite, kind, and very respectful, but also very shy and sometimes afraid to speak up. As a result, she was picked on a lot. She had nothing to worry about, however, because I always dumbfounded the bullies with great comebacks. We lived in a hollow with our mom and our pet cat, Pearl. Our dad had left us without any reason, sadly, when I was four. But our mom always took very good care of us, so we were happy with our life most of the time. Foxy was adopted, her old mom abused her and made her work extremely hard, but she escaped. She was found by a policeman, who drove her to a shelter for kids. This is what happened the day my mom came for her.

Mom walked into he shelter, ten year old me at her side. "I'm getting a sister! I'm getting a sister!" I sang as I pranced around. Mom looked slightly embarrassed as she went to the front desk and asked to go in one of the girl's rooms. All the girls stopped talking and smiled kindly at Miss Jewel and Mrs. McFox as they walked in the room. Foxy, however, had her nose in a picture book. Miss Jewel knocked on her bottom bunk. "Foxy! Hello. :)" "Oh!" Foxy flashed a lopsided grin at Mom. The other foxes quickly exchanged disgusted looks at each other, but Mom saw. "Your name's Foxy? Hi. How long have you been here?" "3 years, but I don't mind it here."
The other girls rolled their eyeballs at each other. Mom saw that, too. Being polite, she talked too the others as well. "Which one do y'all two think would be a match?" The other girls put on anticipated faces, "I'd like to see Foxy Fawn, please," The others groaned and rolled their eyes again. I don't remember what happened then, just we went in a room with Foxy for a few hours. When Miss Jewel stamped a paper, and opened the door, Foxy was crying, and so was Mom. "Why are you sad, Mommy? I got a sister! "Oh, baby," Mom sobbed. "These are tears of happiness. Welcome Foxy Fawn to our home."

A  few days later, we were in our bedroom, staying up late and chatting away. Foxy told me she likes jokes, so I told her one: "What kind of dance does a fox do?" "I don't know," she smiled. "A foxtrot!" She laughed so hard, it startled me. Her shirt came off her a little when she fell off her bed, exposing her back. There were deep, red cuts lining half of it. Embarrassed, she pulled her shirt down quickly. "What happened?" I asked. "Nothing," she said curtly. I shrugged, and we started talking again.  It wasn't until almost a year later when I found out what had happened. I went up to use the bathroom that night. When I came back, Foxy wasn't on her bed! The window was open. Foxes have amazing sniffing sense. so I sniffed the window. It was a foul, disgusting smell that I had never smelled before.

I jumped out the window, scared. The woods were around our house, and I smelled Foxy's fur. It was very dark, and I had no flashlight. But I needed to save Foxy! I heard faint cries from the east and rushed toward the sound of her  muffled screams. I rounded a corner and was blocked by a circle of purple and black creatures. Phantoms! I had never seen any before, except in my school textbooks. In the middle of the circle was a giant boiling pot with a small cage above it. FOXY! She was chained and her mouth was taped shut. I was unnoticed as a large phantom said, "Mr. King, would you like to have the pleasure of boiling the first captured magical plushie?" "I'd be honored to," he said in a sinister voice. "Powers? What powers?" I thought. But there was no time to think about that! Words raged through my head, and I thought of daggers, bombs, and swords towards the phantoms. Before I knew what was happening, a bomb exploded into my hand! I had to think fast. The Phantom King was rushing toward the cauldron!

I threw the bomb at the king's face, after igniting the end of it. My aim was off, so it scorched him but killed some tiny phantoms. The king's face looked up, angry as a bull. "WHICH ONE OF YOU IDIOTS DID THAT!?" He screamed. He jumped onto his feet and chased the nearest phantom far into the woods, all the others following and trying to calm him.

Foxy was shivering, terrified. What I hadn't noticed was there was a cauldron a few yards apart from Foxy with a sea otter in it! After climbing up the slender structure, I yanked on the lock until it came off, ripped off the tape on her mouth, but couldn't undo the chains. "Use your-" she stopped. "Oh wait. Powers don't work when you are within a yard of phantoms or phantom goop. Your's only worked once because it was your first time," she said, sighing at the goop everywhere. I was so bewildered, but eventually yanked off the chains. I heard clanging in the distance. "Hurry, help me save Seashell!" Foxy jumped off the cauldron and ran to the otter's, but it was too late. The phantoms were back, with their king, Shadow, pointing angrily at us. "YOU! YOU WERE THE ONES WHO RUINED MY FACE AND  PERFECT CROWN! AFTER THEM, TROOPS!" Panic surged through me. But I couldn't let the phantoms boil Seashell!

I jumped to a running start and hopped to the top. I used a sharp nail and swung open the cage door. Shadow was advancing toward the cauldron, about to pull the bottom of the cage open! My heart stronger than fear, I yanked her chains out, cradled her in my arms, hopped off the cauldron, grabbed Fox, and practically flew away. One of the phantoms grabbed Foxy's tail and took her away! I yanked her, kicking the phantom. "Phantoms love shiny items. Throw that necklace and they'll be distracted!" Foxy said. That necklace meant so much to me, but it was either this or we'd be phantom soup! The phantom screeched to the others, and they were distracted. I ran back to our house, flew to our bedroom, and locked the door.

"You have some explaining to do, Foxy." Seashell sheepishly shrugged and said, "You tell her, she's your sis," "Fine." Foxy sighed.

"My mom was-a phantom. That's what these red scars on my back were from. Mom told you that a policeman found me, but wrong. Sir Gilbert blasted into my mom's hideaway, took out her, and carried Seashell and me to a place in Jamaa Township with columns around us. I was terrified,  Seashell and I had no idea we had powers. "Foxy McFox and Seashell Otterton, you have been formed in the name of Mira, and were chosen to defend Jamaa. Zios and Mira have given 10 people all around Jamaa powers to defend us from phantoms. With these come responsibilty and difficulty. You must not tell any other being, except your future sister Scarlet when her time comes. Keep everything secret until we call you. Thank you for protecting Jamaa."

Mira, who was next to Sir Gilbert said. My mouth hang open as she formed two orbs from her breath. She whispered something into them and pressed them lightly to our chests. At that moment, I felt-different. Like my heart was pure and I could protect anyone. "Well, try out your speed, Foxy, and your invisibility, Seashell," She said in her perfect voice. I ran a little and was blasted into Jamaa Clothing! I ran a little the other way and was back with Mira. "Don't worry, I will protect you so your power will only be in affect when it is needed." Seashell startled me by appearing out of nowhere! "Wow. Than--k--you," we choked out. Mira smiled, held up her wings, and formed back into her statue of stone.

                                                                            END OF EPISODE ONE :)
